The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team won over Colorado School of Mines, 71-64 in Golden on Friday night.
Both teams were hot from the field in the first half, shooting over 45 percent, resulting in a 37-35 lead for the Skyhawks at the break. Fort Lewis endured a 14-7 first half deficit, to come back and take the two point lead at the half.
In the second half, however, the Skyhawks made it to the free throw line 23 times in the second half, while Mines reached the charity strip just 10 times for the entirety of the game, where they shot 40 percent.
Guard Ryan Jameson led the way for the Skyhawk offense, with 4-10 shooting and 15 points, while center Kirk Archibeque and forward Trent Bowman were just behind Jameson with 14.
With the victory, the Skyhawks maintain their 5-1 RMAC record, 14-3 overall, and remain in a three-way tie for the RMAC south lead while bringing their win streak to 8 games.
Today, the Skyhawks will travel to Lakewood to take on Colorado Christian University, tip off is at 7pm.
